A lot of the rules for romantic relationships are still in place for the rest of relationships, they just play out differently - like love, respect, and boundaries all are a part of each and every relationship, but look differently in romantic verses non.

And also true that doing it right doesn't mean it will be void of pain - sometimes that is part of the process, but the presence of pain still doesn't denote a failure of the process, or trying to honor God.

And seriously Bushy - you should have known me better than that! ;D David Ronsickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01865611969790727519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3533652313339076714.post-35831608611508261642016-09-03T22:48:21.839-07:002016-09-03T22:48:21.839-07:00"Crack the halo on your guardian angel."..."Crack the halo on your guardian angel."

Pure genius. I should've had more faith, obviously. ;)

Brilliant first post! I heartily agree. Whatever you call it, if you follow those primary guidelines God has laid out for us in His Word, you honestly can't go wrong. And yeah, maybe you do everything "right" and it doesn't end in marriage, it can still hurt. But that doesn't mean you failed, and that doesn't mean you can't learn something valuable from it. Nothing is wasted in God's hands if we live committed to Him in everything.

Also those principles apply to all our relationships, romantic or non. Respecting your parents' advice and insight on how you spend time with friends of either gender is just as invaluable as respecting their views on romantic interests. If we live in such a way that we choose to honour God and respect others in all of our actions, the finer details of how we relaate to one another take care of themselves. And that's where we have grace for each others' different journeys.

PS. so glad to see y'all blogging again!
